High Octane Classics is proud to offer this 1974 Plymouth Barracuda finished in a wine red metallic over a black leather interior. The car underwent a rotisserie refurbishment in Connecticut in the 2000s, and a 360ci V8 from the 1980s has been installed along with a four-speed manual transmission. Modifications include a Holley carburetor, a Weiand intake manifold, Doug’s headers, a dual exhaust system, a Sure-Grip differential, American Racing 17″ wheels, a sport hood, a Hurst pistol-grip shifter, and a Pioneer CD stereo. The grille and the bumpers have been reconditioned, and the windshield was replaced under current ownership.

The front bucket seats and rear bench were retrimmed in black vinyl during the refurbishment, and the headliner and the dash pad were replaced. The pistol-grip Hurst shifter was installed in 2019. Interior appointments include a Pioneer CD stereo, three-point front seatbelts, rear lap belts, a cabin heater, bright doorsill plates, black carpeting, and Plymouth-branded floor mats. Round-dial instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. A tachometer has been added beneath the dashboard.

The 360ci V8 was sourced from a 1980s Chrysler product and was rebuilt during the refurbishment, according to the previous owner, and the fuel system was replaced. The engine is complemented by a Holley carburetor, a Weiand intake manifold, Weiand finned valve covers, Doug’s Headers tubular exhaust headers, and a dual exhaust system. The coolant-overflow bottle and the windshield-washer bottle were replaced in 2019. The car’s chassis number indicates that it was originally powered by a 318ci V8. The A833 four-speed manual transmission was sourced from a 1969 Mopar vehicle, rebuilt, and adapted to this car under prior ownership in place of its factory-installed automatic transmission. The Sure-Grip limited-slip differential also has been rebuilt and features 3.23:1 gearing.
-
The fender tag indicates that the vehicle is a Plymouth Barracuda coupe (BH23) that left the factory equipped with a 318ci V8 featuring a two-barrel carburetor (E44) along with a light-duty automatic transmission (D34). The tag also reveals that the car was originally finished in Frosty Green metallic (KG2) with black longitudinal stripes (V6X) over front bucket and rear bench seats upholstered in black vinyl (A6X9). The car also was equipped with the A51 Sport Decor Package.
